Confiant: Real-Time Security for the Digital Ad Economy

Confiant protects the digital advertising ecosystem from malvertising, intrusive ads, and privacy threats. It gives enterprises, publishers, and ad platforms real-time verification so they can keep revenue, reputation, and user trust intact.

What I worked on

SDK engineering (iOS and Android)

  • Swizzled system methods in Cocoa and the Android NDK to hook into partner apps safely.
  • Re-signed .app and .apk bundles for third-party integrations.
  • Shipped SDKs through SPM, CocoaPods, and Maven.
  • Added BDD coverage with Cucumber running on BrowserStack.
  • Jumped on integration calls to unblock clients and keep releases moving.

Core engineering

  • Replaced deprecated dependencies across core services to reduce tech debt.
  • Built a new modular testing framework to speed up CI and improve confidence.
  • Refactored internal tooling so more teams could adopt it without friction.

Impact

  • Fixed a vendor-specific Android bug for a Samsung AOSP device that had been blocking a key partner.
  • Earned consistent praise from premium clients thanks to fast support and stable SDK releases.
  • Helped keep Confiant's detection engine scalable by modernizing dependencies and test coverage.

Confiant detects and protects billions of ad impressions each month for platforms like OpenX, Magnite, CBS Interactive, Complex Media, Gannett, and Politico. Working across mobile and core systems gave me a clear view of how security, performance, and product quality intersect, and how customer conversations feed directly back into better engineering.
